Goa\'s lone airport is heading for an annual maintenance closure for
three days from April 5 to 8 this year. The Indian Navy, which maintains
the airstrip, has announced that the airport will be closed for all
civil and military flying between 7 am and 4 pm from April 5 to 8 for
maintenance work. An Airports Authority of India spokesman said that Goa
airport has maximum traffic in the morning following which the airstrip

IndiGo to start 6 new flights from Delhi and Mumba (Date : 17-03-2012)

IndiGo will launch six new flights on its network from March 18, 2012.
The airline will operate direct flights daily on the
Mumbai-Srinagar-Mumbai route and on the Mumbai-Lucknow-Mumbai route.
Additionally, the carrier will also operate its fifth daily and direct
flight on the Delhi-Lucknow-Delhi route. IndiGo currently operates 319

delayed payment of salaries and allowances, a section of Air India
pilots today warned they would not undertake flying duties from April 1,
2012 if their dues were not cleared by then. The Indian Pilots Guild

IATA suspends Kingfisher Airlines (Date : 09-03-2012)

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has suspended
Kingfisher Airlines from the global carrier-to-carrier account clearing
system after the Indian carrier failed to make payments that were due.
The suspension means Kingfisher is unable to code-share with
IATA’s 240 member airlines, representing more than 80% of international
air traffic. In addition, the carrier will not be able to use other
interline rights which will directly impact on passengers.

Bengaluru airport operator, Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL),
has circulated a ‘consultation paper’ which proposes to shut the airport
for maintenance seven hours a day, every day from February 24 to April
19 this year. The shutdown is proposed to start at 9.45 A.M. and will
